With great surprise we watched in the last Municipal Council, various Municipal Councilors to take a stand against the Tourist Development of our island.
We heard statements such as: “Skiathos is saturated with hotels”, “We do not need other hotels” etc.
These are statements that sadden us and which we honestly cannot justify. We believed that everyone knew that tourism is the most important source of income on our island. How our hotels offer jobs and income to the local community and economy.
Even if someone is for their own reasons opposed to Tourism Development, the investments are implemented based on specific legal regulations, which set the relevant terms and conditions and which the Municipal Council can not and should not overlook. These regulations must be implemented by the Municipality and its services, always acting within the framework of their responsibilities and duties.

Καλούμε, για μια ακόμα φορά, τον Δήμαρχο και τους Δημοτικούς Συμβούλους του νησιού να επαναξιολογήσουν την στάση τους απέναντι μας.
Στις δύσκολες μέρες που διανύουμε οι αντιπαραθέσεις δεν έχουν θέση. Μόνο ενωμένοι μπορούμε να τα καταφέρουμε.
Η αγάπη όλων μας για τον τόπο μας μπορεί και πρέπει να αποτελέσει το θεμέλιο λίθο πάνω στον οποίο θα οικοδομήσουμε μια ειλικρινή συνεργασία που θα είναι προς το συμφέρον όλων.
